Product Overview

The 3M™ PELTOR™ ComTac™ VI features new omni-directional microphones, high-fidelity speakers, and a redesigned digital signal processor that significantly improves overall sound quality. The result is a more natural-sounding headset with voice and sound clarity purpose-built for combat and combat support operations in complex acoustical environments.

Hear and Be Heard

The redesigned transmit microphone is embedded with patented 3M closed-cell foam, delivering improved noise-cancelling transmission in high-noise and high-wind environments while enhancing dust and water ingress protection.

Environmental Listening (Talk-Through)

The level-dependent digital audio circuit allows safe ambient sounds to bypass hearing protection electronically. External sounds are received, processed, and delivered to the speaker — harmful noise levels are compressed while weak sounds are amplified to an audible level.

MAP Function — Advanced Ambient Listening

The MAP (Mission Adjustable Profile) function provides a new way to configure auditory settings for your mission. Unlike traditional headsets with a fixed frequency response, MAP offers five advanced ambient listening modes with frequency shaping — each profile designed with specific combat and combat support operations in mind. Operators can fine-tune gain settings and frequency response to match their environment, not just adjust volume.

NIB — Near-field Independent Bluetooth

NIB enables short-range, headset-to-headset communication in high-noise environments without an external communications radio. Key capabilities include:

  • Up to 4 team members speaking simultaneously
  • Over 60 people within a 10-meter radius can listen at any given time
  • Voice-activated (VOX) or push-to-talk (PTT) audio transmit
  • Adaptive VOX threshold — automatically adjusts to ambient noise levels
  • Tactile button on the left ear cup to toggle NIB on/off or switch between VOX and PTT
